Sell your business

Sell your business in Norway

Nothing is listed until you have said yes. Most people considering a sale do not want employees, customers or competitors to know. So we start with a conversation, not an advert.

You can stay anonymous through the entire first conversation.
The starting point

Discretion is not a service. It is the precondition.

A sale that leaks costs more. Employees start looking around, customers get uneasy, and buyers sense that you are in a hurry. So the order of events matters more than the speed.

01No public advertYour business is not put on a list and the name is not published. Buyers are approached one by one, deliberately, and they learn who the company is only after you have approved it.
02NDA before figuresAccounts, customer lists and margins are not shared before a non-disclosure agreement is signed. That is standard in serious processes, and it is not negotiable with us.
03You approve every stepNo buyer is contacted and no information is passed on without your agreement. You can stop at any point.
How it works

From first conversation to transfer.

How long it takes depends on the business and on how many buyers are realistic. The first conversation costs nothing, and it does not commit you to selling.

01A conversation, no obligationWhat you have built, why you are considering a sale, and what you want to walk away with. You can stay anonymous at this stage. If the answer is that you should not sell now, Lars says so.
02What makes it saleable, and to whomCustomers, contracts, employees, dependence on you personally. A business that stops without its owner is harder to sell — and that is often something that can be put right well before a process starts.
03Targeted buyer contactWe build a list of who would realistically want it, and approach them one by one. Not an advert. Not a mailshot.
04From interest to offerNDA, then the figures, then conversations. You decide who proceeds and when. A lawyer and an accountant are brought in where needed, and that cost is shown separately.
05TransferThe change of ownership is registered, and you are out. If you are also winding up another company, or setting something up afterwards, it hangs together in the same case with us.
Considering a sale, but not yet? That is the best time to talk. What makes a business easier to sell takes time to put right.
Common questions

What owners ask first.

If your question is not here, ask — you can stay anonymous, and you get the answer in writing.

Can I stay anonymous?
Yes, through the entire first conversation. You do not need to give the name of the business to talk to us about what it might be worth and who the realistic buyers would be. Company names and owner details are never published without your approval — that is also stated in our terms.
What is my business worth?
The honest answer is that nobody can say in a first conversation, and you should be sceptical of anyone who does. Value depends on earnings, how predictable they are, how dependent operations are on you, and on who the buyer is — a competitor and a financial buyer look at entirely different things. We go through what actually drives value in your business before anyone puts a number on it.
What does it cost?
The first conversation is free and carries no obligation. If it becomes a process, the preparation and buyer contact are agreed in advance, in writing, before anything starts. Lawyers and accountants are shown separately, never hidden inside our own price.
How long does a sale take?
From months to over a year. It depends on how many realistic buyers exist, how tidy the accounts and contracts are, and how fast you want to move. We do not promise a date — but we say early on if something in your business typically makes the process longer.
What if I change my mind?
Then it stops. You can withdraw at any point, including after buyers have been approached. Nothing binds you until you have signed. That is precisely why we do not list the business publicly — a process that was never published can be ended without anyone noticing.
Next step

Start with a conversation, not a decision.

Say briefly what the business does and what you are thinking. You do not need to give the name, and asking commits you to nothing.
